Con Survival Skills 101

This 90 minute workshop with Q&A, facilitated by a mental health professional and seasoned con goer, will walk attendees through the basics of con survival. A guided workshop, attendees will leave with an action plan to care for the mind and body that can be referenced and shared with others. This plan will includes: basic centering exercise, nourishing your nervous system, managing FOMO, attending to sensory over or under stimulation, and a basic grounding exercise. Bring pencil, paper, or a device with the ability to take notes.

Many of us have experienced parental trauma, leaving us scarred and wounded. One path through that pain is to listen to and tend to the needs of our inner child. Using examples from Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli, we will walk you through developing awareness of your inner child’s voice, accepting their needs, and identifying action steps for how to make decisions related to what your inner child is asking of you.
